The Chamber of the Holy Synod
Court of the Holy Synod is a new building constructed during the period 1904-1912, by design of two famous Bulgarian architects - arh.Momchilov and arh.Popov. It is the seat of the Holy Synod of Bulgarian Orthodox Church, located near the Temple of Alexander Nevsky. Above the entrance are depicted three fighters for religious independence. In the garden infront the court there is a bronze relief of Ilarion Makariopolski - founder of the independent Bulgarian Exarchy (1870). In 1955 the court is declared a monument of culture.
